The Special Unit of the Kosovo Police has intervened at the entrance to Prishtina from Veternik, where the road was blocked by numerous protesters, including business representatives and citizens, reports Ekonomia Online.

The protest, which had been previously announced, began today at 10:00 AM as a sign of opposition to the decision by the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), which mandates businesses to enter the free electricity market.

Footage from the scene shows a significant presence of heavy vehicles, including trucks strategically parked to obstruct traffic, as well as police forces deployed to manage the situation.

Business representatives voiced strong discontent with ERO’s decision, stressing that entering the free market would significantly increase operational costs and jeopardize the survival of many small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Kosovo Police are closely monitoring the situation to ensure public order and safety, and as of now, no clashes have been reported.
