Kosovo’s Special Prosecution issued a statement regarding the attack on the Ibër Lepenc canal last Friday.
According to the statement, the Special Prosecution, in coordination with Kosovo Police, conducted searches at multiple locations, uncovering various weapons and equipment. Ten individuals were detained for suspected involvement in criminal acts.
“The Special Prosecution informs the public that on November 30, 2024, Kosovo Police, in coordination with the Special Prosecutor, carried out multiple searches related to the November 29 incident in Varagë, Zubin Potok, specifically at the Ibër Lepenc canal. Weapons and other equipment were seized during these searches,” the statement read.
Ten individuals were detained for offenses including “Endangering the constitutional order by damaging public infrastructure” (Article 122), “Committing terrorist acts” (Article 129, paragraph 1 and Article 128, paragraph 1.8), and “Unauthorized possession of weapons” (Article 366, paragraph 2).
The prosecution confirmed that two individuals, identified by initials D.V. and D.M., both from the Serbian community, were arrested. D.V. was remanded in custody for one month, while D.M. was released to face regular proceedings.
Regarding a separate arrest on December 1, the prosecution reported that another suspect, J.V., also from the Serbian community, was detained. A search of J.V.’s residence revealed a significant cache of weapons and other equipment.
Investigative actions in this case are ongoing, the prosecution added.
