The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, specifically its War Crimes Investigation Department, has begun reviewing information related to the exhibition “Massacres in Kosovo 1998–1999”, which had been displayed in Mother Teresa Square in Pristina.

“In accordance with legal competencies and the mandate of the State Prosecutor, this matter will be assessed to determine whether it contains elements of criminal liability,” the prosecution stated.

Five days later, the exhibition panels were removed from the capital’s main squares after inaccuracies were identified in the presented data. Municipal teams carried out the removal operation earlier today.

The exhibition sparked strong public reactions, with some citizens even covering parts of the displays that contained disputed information about victims of the Dubrava Prison massacre and the Krushë e Madhe massacre.

Minister Andin Hoti stated that presenting inaccurate material about war crimes in public spaces is unacceptable and directly undermines historical truth. Meanwhile, the Assembly of Kosovo emphasized that responsibility for the content lies with the exhibition’s authors and organizers.

The exhibition’s organizer, Shkelzen Gashi, responded by saying that the only list used so far was compiled by the Humanitarian Law Center, led by Natasha Kandić.
