The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has raised an indictment against defendants R.V. and M.V. of Serbian nationality, and A.Ç. of Bosnian nationality, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense “War Crime Against the Civilian Population,” as stipulated in Article 142 in connection with Article 22 of the Penal Code of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (hereinafter “LP-RSFJ”) in force at the time the offense was committed.

Investigations have confirmed that the defendants, as reserve members of the Police Station in Pejë, in collaboration with members of the Serbian police forces, during the war in Kosovo, in the village of Ozdrim, Municipality of Pejë, and surrounding villages in the Pejë region, committed murder, expulsion, destruction of property, and mistreatment of the Albanian civilian population not involved in the war, resulting in the killing of 14 Albanian civilians.

The Prosecution has proposed holding the trial in absentia, in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, as the defendants are at large.

The Special Prosecution remains committed to prosecuting and bringing to justice all individuals responsible for war crimes in Kosovo.
