The Special Prosecution of Kosovo has requested that the Basic Court in Prishtina issue an arrest warrant for Goran Rakić, former leader of the Serb List.

The news was confirmed by the Special Prosecution spokesperson, Arbnora Luta, who stated that Rakić failed to respond to three consecutive summonses. He initially cited health issues for his absence, but provided no explanation for the subsequent two summonses.

The case concerns the placement of barricades in northern Kosovo in 2022, during which Rakić also served as a member of the Kosovo Assembly.

“To ensure his presence, the Special Prosecution of Kosovo has submitted a request to the Basic Court of Prishtina for the issuance of an arrest warrant against G.R.,” the prosecution said.

The Special Prosecution also confirmed that interviews with the accused Zllatan Ellek, Igor Simić, and Sllavko Simić have already been completed.
