Elisa Spiropali, Albania’s Minister of State for Parliamentary Relations, during her first official visit to Athens, called for the repeal of the war law affecting relations between Albania and Greece.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Greek counterpart George Gerapetritis, Spiropali emphasized that both countries are NATO members and should focus on joint European cooperation:
“This potential for friendship creates the right moment to address remaining and current issues, opening a new chapter with eyes on the future. We need to encourage communication among our societies, universities, interest groups, and students,” Spiropali said.
She added that Albania supports the swift conclusion of any outdated wartime legal references, which do not reflect the current relations between the two allies and NATO partners.
“This step would further strengthen our cooperation and shared European vision,” Spiropali concluded.
