The Serbia Center (SRCE) party sharply criticized the counter-rally organized by supporters of President Aleksandar Vučić in Ćacilend, the fenced-off area in front of the Serbian Parliament, calling it a clear demonstration of the president’s inability to rally genuine public support.

In a statement, SRCE described the orchestrated cheering for the president and the simultaneous marginalization of Dijana Hrka, the mother who has been on a hunger strike demanding justice for her son, as the work of “a desperate man with no other political moves.”

“Vučić gathered everyone he could, but mostly those brought in by buses from across Serbia and paid with public funds, along with officials and coerced public sector employees. Yet they failed to stage a ‘grand reception’—instead, they orchestrated what was effectively a ceremonial farewell for a regime in decline,” the party said.

SRCE accused Vučić of revealing his dependence on paid and coerced supporters, showing that he no longer commands genuine popular support and instead aims only to maintain power by escalating societal tensions. “He hopes for conflicts and will provoke them because fear and hopelessness are the environments in which he thrives,” the statement reads.

The party also condemned Vučić for casting an entire population as enemies, including students, teachers, workers, and citizens who resist a state dominated by criminal networks and organized looting of public resources.

“Tonight’s shameful rally in Ćacilend only charted the path for Vučić’s exit from power. Not even his appeals concerning the upcoming energy crisis will save him,” SRCE concluded.
