A memorial to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide will be unveiled on Thursday, July 10, in Luxembourg, announced the Srebrenica Organizing Committee from that country.

“This is an important moment for our community, a moment when the truth about the Srebrenica genocide will become part of the foundation of Luxembourg City’s public space,” the organizers stated in their announcement.

The monument will be erected in Tony Neumann Park in the prestigious Limpertsberg neighborhood of Luxembourg’s capital, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the tragic event.

A Symbol of Truth, Dignity, and Remembrance

The Srebrenica Organizing Committee emphasized the significance of the memorial.

“This memorial is not just an architectural form; it is a message of values, stance, and conscience. It is a space that will permanently remind of the truth, but also speak of dignity, resilience, and collective memory,” the statement read.

“Srebrenica is getting its place in Luxembourg. And it’s forever,” the Srebrenica Organizing Committee concluded.
