Activists Lazar Dinić and Ivan Bijelić, founders of the portal Revolt, reported receiving threatening messages after revealing the identities of individuals allegedly affiliated with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) who attacked students and journalists in Novi Sad.
Details of the Threats
Dinić confirmed to Autonomija that criminal complaints will be filed over the threats, which included messages stating:
- “We will cut you into pieces.”
- “We will rip out your hearts.”
- “Your end is near.”
He noted that while they have previously received menacing messages, these recent threats were unusually direct and personal.
“We know their aim is to intimidate us, but they will not succeed. We will persist until the end,” Dinić said.
Background of the Attack
The threats follow a violent incident outside the Serbian National Theatre (Srpsko narodno pozorište) in Novi Sad, where several individuals, allegedly SNS activists, physically assaulted students and journalists during a protest.
The alleged attackers have been identified on social media, where their photos, biographies, and previous criminal records or ongoing investigations have been publicly shared.
