The Serbian List (Lista Serbe) has reacted to the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s visit to northern Kosovo. According to them, Kurti and Interior Minister Sveçla arrived there “with dozens of heavily armed special forces, trying to cover up their failures with cheap political theatrics.”
“This surprise visit represents yet another attempt by Albin Kurti to divert public attention from the fact that, even after several months, he has failed to form the Assembly in Pristina or improve the conditions for his own people,” the party stated.
Serbian List claims that every time Kurti suffers a political “defeat,” he resorts to “attacks against Serbs, Serbian institutions, arbitrary arrests and raids, or raising tensions.”
“As always, when he faces political or institutional failure or when a scandal involving his associates is exposed, Kurti uses a well-known tactic: attacks on Serbs, institutions of the Republic of Serbia, groundless arrests and raids, or stoking tensions within the Serbian community. The Serbian people today, for the umpteenth time, have shown dignity and political maturity by completely ignoring this provocative circus with disgust. They are not, and will not be, welcoming to those who threaten, arrest, discriminate against, and try to impose political will contrary to the wishes of the citizens — attempting to demonstrate false authority over our fellow countrymen,” the statement concludes.
