Chief negotiators Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovic will go to Brussels tomorrow for a meeting in which, as the EU spokesman, Peter Stano said, will be “the urgent start of the implementation of the Agreement on the road to normalization of relations” between Kosovo and Serbia.

Asked by journalists about mutual recognition, Stano said that the goal of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is “the normalization of relations”.

This task has been given by the EU as a mandate for dialogue facilitators. So, the mandate is to help the two parties to normalize their relations. So there is no recognition there. Of course, the logical consequence of normalization would be recognition. But, this is something very far along the path of the process”, said Stano.

He confirmed that tomorrow there will be a meeting between the chief negotiators, as warned by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell last Wednesday after the meetings with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the President of Serbia, Aleksnadar Vučić . A tripartite meeting was missed.
