Jeta Statovci, a Member of Parliament from the Guxo List, has responded to claims that the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) has been contacting MPs from other parties to secure votes for the election of Albulena Haxhiu as the new Speaker of the Assembly.
Speaking on the DPT Fidani show, Statovci asserted that many MPs often make such declarations to gain attention and become targets for contact. However, she firmly stated that LVV and its coalition partners do not engage in such “bargaining.”
Statovci explained that some MPs intentionally send signals hoping to be contacted by political affiliates or friends, describing this as a common phenomenon.
“LVV, along with its coalition partners, neither engages in such bargaining nor discusses such bargaining,” she emphasized.
Ultimately, the MP added that such statements from deputies are frequently used for the internal political purposes of those MPs and their respective parties.
