Political analyst Boban Stojanović has assessed the recent local elections in Serbia, noting that the Aleksandar Vučić-led Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) saw a decline in voter support in nine out of ten municipalities where elections were held.

Stojanović pointed out that only in Kladovo did the SNS show a modest increase of four percent. In contrast, in Bor, despite claims of increased votes, the SNS actually lost about 11 percent of support when factoring in coalition partners such as the Socialist Party of Serbia and the Vlach party “Most.”

Other notable drops included: Aranđelovac (-7%), Bajina Bašta (-6%), Knjaževac (-24%), Kula (-13%), Lučani (-5%), Majdanpek (-7%), Smederevska Palanka (-18%), and Sevojno (-7.5%), with combined losses reaching -37% in some areas when including smaller parties like Zavetnici and Stamatović’s Zdrava Srbija.

Stojanović emphasized that students’ electoral lists performed strongly, often coming in second place and in some cases securing the highest number of mandates, such as in Kula.

He concluded that the election results reflect a significantly changed political landscape compared to two or four years ago, highlighting uncertainty even in SNS strongholds. Stojanović warned that Vučić may be among the most concerned figures in Serbia, given the declining trends, and suggested that these results could influence discussions on the timing of potential national elections.
