Storm Johannes, which has been affecting the Nordic region since the weekend, has left three people dead and thousands without electricity on Monday.

Three individuals died in Sweden after trees fell on them, while more than 15,000 households were left without power on Monday morning, even as the storm began to ease, according to broadcaster SVT.

Southwestern and western Finland also experienced similar conditions, with over 33,000 customers without electricity, reported broadcaster Yle, as cited by Telegrafi.

The storm is expected to cause damages amounting to hundreds of thousands of euros, according to Forestry Management Associations in Southern and Central Ostrobothnia.

In Norway, heavy snowfall has led to road closures and delays in the far north, while southern regions are expected to experience some mountain passes closed throughout the day.
