The Director General of the Kosovo Correctional Service, Ismail Dibrani, held a meeting today with the Director of Prisons of Albania, Klevis Qose, the Global Counterterrorism Advisor of ICITAP, Bill Sage, and the Regional Advisor for Correctional Intelligence Units, Frank Karam.
During this meeting, security issues in the correctional institutions of both countries were discussed, with a focus on sharing experiences and best practices in prison management. The support of ICITAP was highly valued by both institutions, particularly for the establishment of the Correctional Intelligence Unit of the Kosovo Correctional Service. This unit has significantly increased security levels, becoming a success story and a model for the entire region.
“Supported by ICITAP, necessary equipment has been identified for the KCS, such as scanners, phone detection cameras, and other security equipment, which will arrive in Kosovo in October. ICITAP and INL remain the key partners in the development and reform of the KCS; their support is crucial and decisive for the Kosovo Correctional Service,” the announcement states.
