Albanian-Americans Discuss Strengthening Kosovo-US Cooperation at State Department

The Pan-Albanian Federation of America “Vatra” held an official visit to the U.S. Department of State, focusing on deepening cooperation between Kosovo and the United States.

According to a statement from Vatra, the organization’s president, Dr. Elmi Berisha, Secretary Dr. Pashko Camaj, and national affairs activist Bardh Tomaj were welcomed by Colleen Hyland, Director of the Office of South-Central Europe at the State Department.

Discussions covered Kosovo’s electoral processes, the need for government formation and law enforcement institutions, and the strengthening of Kosovo-US relations to ensure sustainable development and faster Euro-Atlantic integration. Other topics included Vatra’s role in fostering Albanian-American ties, cooperation between U.S. and Kosovo institutions, and political developments in Albania.

Hyland praised Vatra’s role and emphasized the importance of maintaining close cooperation between the federation and the U.S. State Department.
