Kosovo has a unique relationship with the United States, a sentiment emphasized by U.S. President Donald Trump.
This special connection is evident in the letter Trump sent to Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, on the occasion of Kosovo’s Independence Day, where he highlighted the strong ties between the two nations.
“The ties between our people are strong and we look forward to expanding those links, including through increased investment opportunities to bring greater prosperity to both our nations,” Trump wrote in the letter.
Just a few days earlier, Trump also sent a letter to Serbia’s President, Aleksandar Vučić, where a significant difference in how Trump views the two countries becomes apparent.
While Trump speaks of a “special bond” with Kosovo, he describes Serbia as building “good relations.”
“I look forward to enhancing our partnership, as we build on the growing ties between our two nations and bring greater security and prosperity to the people of Serbia and the United States,” Trump said in the letter to Serbia.
