Since July 28, the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague have been on summer recess.
As a result, the trial against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi was temporarily paused, IndeksOnline reports.
However, the recess is now coming to an end.
According to the official calendar of the Specialist Chambers, the proceedings in the case “Thaçi et al.” will continue from September 15 onwards.
On that date, the presentation of the defense evidence will begin, and witnesses are also expected to be called.
The return to regular hearings follows several developments:
- The defense’s request for release was rejected, thus extending the detention of the former KLA leaders.
- Additionally, Hashim Thaçi’s family visits were restricted, with the court arguing that such measures are necessary to prevent any possible attempts to obstruct judicial proceedings in his case and in “Case 6.”
