The wreckage of the superyacht Bayesian, which sank off the coast of Porticello, Sicily, in August 2024, was successfully brought to the surface today. Two floating cranes were used in the operation to lift the vessel from the seabed.

The tragic incident last year claimed the lives of seven people, including prominent British businessman Mike Lynch.

Prior to the recovery, the yacht’s 75-meter aluminum mast was cut to facilitate the lifting process. Rescue operations are ongoing, and the remains of the yacht are expected to be transported ashore soon. Meanwhile, a group of journalists aboard the Italian Coast Guard vessel Diciotti approached the site to capture close-up footage of the recovery efforts.
