Pristina, July 28, 2025 — A security alert was raised in Pristina today after authorities received a report of a suspicious object near the U.S. Embassy, located on Ahmet Krasniqi Street in the capital. The incident prompted a swift response from Kosovo’s police and specialized explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) units.
According to Enis Pllana, spokesperson for the Pristina police department, law enforcement received the report at approximately 12:00 p.m. and immediately dispatched units to secure the area.
“Following all necessary operational procedures and a thorough inspection of the scene by the specialized EOD units, it was determined that the object in question did not contain any explosive materials,” Pllana confirmed.
The road was temporarily closed to ensure public safety during the inspection. The situation has since been declared under control, and normal traffic has resumed in the area.
Authorities have not disclosed the exact nature of the object but emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The U.S. Embassy has not issued a public statement regarding the incident.
