Sveçla and Balla Agree on Cooperation to Combat Illegal Migration

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, met today with his counterpart, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Albania, Taulant Balla.

Minister Sveçla met with his counterpart in Tirana, along with the police management of the two countries, ahead of the Supervisory Committee meeting with the United Kingdom to combat illegal migration.

According to the announcement, during the discussions, they addressed the achievements in the fight against all forms of crime, viewing this as a vision for a safer region.

“Minister Sveçla emphasized that in our collaborations, we have made decisions for concrete steps and projects to advance cooperation and to increase institutional and technological capacities, with the aim of strengthening security and making a strong impact on criminal groups.

Jointly, both ministers in this meeting agreed on the need to continue and strengthen cooperation in the fight against illegal migration, ensuring the presentation of the results of this cooperation at the next Supervisory Committee meeting with the United Kingdom. Additionally, it was decided that the next meeting of this Committee will be held in Prishtina,” the announcement stated.
