Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has confirmed that Serbian politician in Kosovo, Aleksandar Arsenijević, whose property in Zveçan was found with heavy weaponry yesterday, is currently not in Kosovo and is being sought by competent authorities.

Sveçla stated that according to intelligence, three of Arsenijević’s properties and those belonging to his family were raided. The minister further detailed other findings, suggesting a long-standing involvement in criminal activity.

“He is not in Kosovo; law enforcement agencies are searching for him… The moment he enters the territory of Kosovo, he will be stopped, and then it is a matter for the police and prosecution,” Sveçla said. “According to the information provided to me, three of his and his family’s other properties were raided yesterday. Among other things, equipment for cryptocurrencies, which is a customs violation, a bulletproof vest, and some other minor items were found, which indicates that he has been involved in crime for a long time.”

Veton Elshani, Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police for the north, had previously stated that “Aleksandar Arsenijević is a person of interest to the police,” without providing further details.

Yesterday’s raid in Vallaq, Zveçan, conducted by the Kosovo Police in cooperation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) and the prosecution, and monitored by KFOR and EULEX, uncovered a significant amount of armament. This included a handheld rocket launcher (zolla), hand grenades, truncheons, weapons, and ammunition of various types.
