Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla has expressed his condolences following the death of police officer Shemë Mustafa.
Sveçla stated that Mustafa’s dedicated and courageous service in defending Kosovo’s borders will remain an inspiring example for members of the Kosovo Police and for future generations who will join the force.
Shemë Mustafa, a former Kosovo Police officer from Mitrovica, was known for his service in the northern region and for the ordeal he endured in June 2023, when he was abducted by Serbian forces along with two of his colleagues.
Mustafa served for many years in the Kosovo Police and was widely respected as one of the most devoted officers operating in northern Mitrovica.
