Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has reacted after the release of two Serbs who were arrested on Sunday in Prizren and who were alleged to be active officers of Serbian security services.
In a Facebook post, Sveçla wrote that the rule of law and justice had no weight in this case.
“I don’t know which other force released these individuals because it is clear that the rule of law and justice had no weight here,” Sveçla said.
Meanwhile, the Basic Prosecution of Prizren emphasized that it was determined that there is currently no grounded suspicion, as required by law, to justify a request for detention or any other measure to ensure the defendants’ presence in the proceedings.
“The Prosecution remains committed to acting with high responsibility, respecting the rights of the parties, and ensuring the fair and objective enforcement of the law,” the statement said.
Last week, during an operation, a total of 16 people were detained while traveling in four vehicles with license plates from the Serbian city of Kragujevac.
