The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, praised the recent police operations as exemplary efforts.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the Kosovo police officers.
“Six arrests for usury in Prizren and Suhareka, three arrests for narcotics, one for possession of weapons, ammunition, and uniforms in Leposaviq, along with several arrests of wanted individuals. This is the result of exceptional work by the Kosovo Police in just the past two days. I am grateful to every police member who, with dedication and professionalism, works across our Republic to uphold law and order, enabling our citizens to live, work, and thrive in freedom and safety, away from criminal activities that endanger their lives,” the minister wrote.
He added, “The recent actions have shown success thanks to the cooperation between citizens and the Kosovo Police, and I encourage this type of social engagement to continue.”
“The professionalism of police officers remains essential, and any conduct that harms the image and values of the Kosovo Police will not go unpunished. In two separate cases, five officers were suspended due to suspected mistreatment of citizens.”
Minister Sveçla affirmed that the Kosovo Police serve all citizens equally and uphold the rule of law.
“It is based on democratic values that, above all, respect human rights and freedoms. We will continue our unwavering support for the Kosovo Police, whose successes not only ensure safety for our country and citizens but also elevate our Republic,” the minister emphasized.
