The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, commented on the protest held by Serbs in North Mitrovica, stating that “it is their right to protest” and that protesting is a democratic right.
“They have the right to protest; it’s a democratic right, and there are no issues,” Sveçla said.
In a statement to journalists, Sveçla mentioned that he visited the north to check the Ibar Bridge and conduct measurements.
“This is a regular visit; I came to see and take measurements. The inspection has two phases. We are in the process and are following the plan. I don’t see anything extraordinary,” he continued.
Regarding the opening of the bridge, Sveçla responded that it depends on how the process progresses.
“It all depends on the process,” he emphasized.
