The Chief of the Swiss Army’s Operations Command, Laurent Michaud, is scheduled to begin a visit to the Western Balkans from July 30 to August 2, during which he will also stop in Kosovo to meet with the Swiss contingent serving under NATO’s KFOR mission, reports Rks News.
As part of this regional tour, Michaud will also travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he will meet Swiss soldiers deployed in the European Union Force (EUFOR) mission.
During his meetings with the troops, Michaud will be briefed on the security situation in the areas where they are stationed and on the activities of the Swiss Army within these missions, with a particular focus on the role of Swiss officers attached to KFOR’s international headquarters.
In addition to troop visits, Michaud will also hold meetings with the Swiss ambassadors in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as with the commanders of KFOR and EUFOR.
