A couple of tourists from Switzerland has been reported missing in the Shebenik National Park in Librazhd, after allegedly straying off the marked trail during a mountain hike.
According to preliminary information, one of them sustained a leg injury and called for urgent assistance, Euronews Albania reports.
Emergency response teams from the Elbasan Protected Areas Administration, in cooperation with Librazhd Police, are currently conducting a search and rescue operation in the Hotolisht area, where the terrain is difficult and access is limited.
Authorities have appealed to visitors exploring mountainous areas to exercise caution and follow the approved trails to prevent such incidents.
