Swiss authorities have decided to align with the 15th sanctions package against Russia, adopted by the European Union on December 16, and impose restrictions against Belarus.

The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education, and Research (EAER) announced the expansion of Switzerland’s sanctions lists targeting Russia and Belarus.
“Switzerland is adopting additional sanctions imposed by the EU,” the authorities confirmed in a statement.
The decision, which includes financial restrictions and updated sanction measures, comes into effect today.
