Former Serbian President Boris Tadić has reacted to the recent security operations conducted by Kosovo authorities in the north, which resulted in the closure of several parallel social centers.

Taking to social media platform X, Tadić asserted that such actions are not isolated incidents but rather part of an ongoing trend. He specifically emphasized that during his presidency, Kosovo Police would not have been able to operate in the northern municipalities.

“If you remember, did anything like this happen during my time? Or did the Kosovo Police ever approach the north? Never,” Tadić wrote, displaying clear pride in his past policies regarding Kosovo.

His comments come as Kosovo authorities continue to assert control over the north, where Serbia has historically supported parallel structures. The latest operation targeted illegal social service centers that were functioning outside Kosovo’s legal framework.

Tadić served as Serbia’s president from 2004 to 2012, a period marked by tense relations between Belgrade and Prishtina, particularly following Kosovo’s declaration of independence in 2008. His statement underscores the continued political sensitivity surrounding the north and the ongoing efforts by Kosovo’s institutions to dismantle Serbian-backed parallel structures.
