Edita Tahiri, former chief negotiator and former Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, has commented on the NATO Summit held in The Hague, expressing concern over the absence of U.S. President Donald Trump’s congratulations to either Kosovo or Albania following their respective elections.

“Trump was called ‘Daddy’ at the NATO Summit in The Hague – yet neither Kosovo nor Albania received his congratulations after the elections,” Tahiri wrote.

She pointed out that Kosovo currently lacks a prime minister, while Albania has one, but following contested elections, implying a lack of political clarity and legitimacy in both countries.

“This reality is alarming for both states, especially when we consider that the U.S. is our main ally and the most powerful country — a country that, after the strikes on Iran, has reasserted its global supremacy,” she added.

Tahiri’s remarks highlight growing concerns over regional stability and U.S. engagement, especially at a time when Trump has resumed a strong leadership role in global security issues, as emphasized during recent NATO deliberations.
