A large white cloud of smoke has been seen rising in the southeast of Tehran following a new wave of explosions, reports news agency “AF,” citing its journalists on the ground.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has announced that the Israeli Air Force has just destroyed the headquarters of Iran’s internal security intelligence agency.
“This is the arm of repression of the Iranian dictator. We will continue to strike the symbols of power and the Ayatollahs’ regime wherever they are,” Katz stated.
Alongside conventional attacks, the Israeli state has also launched cyberattacks against the Islamic Republic. A pro-Israeli hacker group called “Sparrow-Hunter” has targeted Iran’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, “Nobitex.”
This cyberattack comes just a day after a similar strike on Iran’s central bank. “Sparrow-Hunter” has threatened to release internal data from the crypto exchange within 24 hours, accusing Nobitex of financing terrorism and circumventing international sanctions.
To increase pressure on the Islamic Republic, the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier “USS Ford” is set to be deployed to the Middle East next week, bringing the number of American warships in the region to three.
Meanwhile, the U.S. administration is taking measures to evacuate American citizens from Israel, a move confirmed by U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee.
