In a dramatic escalation, Israeli warplanes hit near the presidential palace in Damascus, Syria just 500 meters from the residence of interim President Ahmed Sharaa. PM Netanyahu confirmed the strike, calling it a “clear message” to the Syrian regime amid rising sectarian clashes involving the Druze community.

“We will not allow hostile forces near southern Damascus,” said Netanyahu.

This marks the second Israeli strike in Syria in just two days. Reports say Syrian leadership vacated the area an hour before the strike. No official response from Damascus yet.
