After the clashes that took place in the Serbian Parliament, Speaker Ana Brnabić strongly criticized the opposition, accusing them of serving the interests of Albin Kurti and the Albanian media in Kosovo.
Brnabić, holding in her hands images from media articles in Kosovo, said that the opposition in Serbia, due to their use of tear gas and the chaos they created in Parliament, is being seen as “heroes” by Albanians. According to her, this has become an opportunity for the opposition to gain support from Albanian media and politicians.
“Serbia’s citizens who are watching these developments, I want to tell you, opposition deputies, that you have become heroes for Albanian media in Kosovo. You are the heroes of Albin Kurti, I hope you’re satisfied,” Brnabić said, adding that this has served as an opportunity for Kurti and the media in Kosovo to promote their own interests.
She described this as clear evidence of the “battle” for and against Serbia, emphasizing that the opposition has helped Kurti and worsened Serbia’s image in the international community.
The situation in the Serbian Parliament escalated further after physical clashes broke out between deputies from the ruling party and the opposition. Some pyrotechnic devices and tear gas were thrown during the parliamentary session, causing chaos and high tensions, culminating in a heated debate about the opposition’s actions and positions.
This accusation from Brnabić towards the opposition is just one of several strong statements she has made regarding recent political events in Serbia, where tensions have been high between the ruling party and the opposition.
