Reports from RKS News indicate that Goran Rakiq, the former leader of the Serbian List, was brutally attacked around 2:30 AM last night on Sutjeska Street in northern Mitrovica. He sustained injuries to his hands and head during the assault, which occurred outside his residence, where it is believed the assailants had been waiting for him.
Veton Elshani, Deputy Director of Police for the Northern region, stated that they have no information regarding this incident. “We cannot confirm such an event; we have not received any complaints so far,” he said.
However, RKS News reports that the incident has not been officially reported to the police, raising concerns about attempts to conceal it. Rakiq sought medical assistance at a local hospital, where he was registered, but there are allegations of efforts to remove the case from medical records. Sources suggest that Zlatan Elek, the current head of the Serbian List, may be involved in these attempts.
The situation is believed to stem from a rift between Rakiq and Milan Radojičić, leading to speculations of a conflict between factions within the Serbian List. This incident highlights the escalating tensions within the political landscape in the region.
