The suspect behind the serious incident earlier today in Germany, where a car crashed into a crowd of people leaving dead and injured, is reported to be from Saudi Arabia.
This was reported by Bild.de.
The report also states that the suspect arrested in Magdeburg was not previously known to German authorities as an Islamist.
According to initial findings, the man is believed to be around 50 years old and comes from Saudi Arabia.
