The trial against former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) will resume on February 9 at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, where hearings for the closing statements will be held. This marks the final phase of a process expected to continue until the first week of March.

According to the calendar of the Specialist Chambers, a total of seven hearings have been scheduled for the presentation of these closing statements, which will be followed by sessions related to the “administration of justice.” This process represents a significant development in the ongoing investigations into alleged war crimes.

Meanwhile, on December 30, 2025, the Supreme Court Panel rejected the request for conditional release submitted by Jakup Krasniqi, who had withdrawn his request following a decision by the Court of Appeal that dismissed his application for temporary release. The decision was issued by a panel composed of judges Ekaterina Trendafilova, Kristine van den Wyngaert, and Daniel Fransen.

This ruling constitutes an important development in the judicial proceedings, which are among the most closely followed trials in the history of Kosovo.
