From his cell in The Hague, where he has been held for five years, former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has conveyed a message to the citizens. He expressed uncertainty if his message would be heard or read, but felt the need to share his thoughts.

A Plea for Unity and Trust in Euro-Atlantic Path

In his full message, Thaçi shared several directives:

“A message from the cell – I don’t know if it will make sense, I don’t know how accurate it will be, or if anyone will hear or read it. But, since it has been requested, I will express it as a thought. Even today, I convey love for my compatriots, wherever they live. Respect for international partners, with whom we together ensured a dignified existence, survived, and achieved the goal of building the state of Kosovo. Until recently, we were a rising state and people, respected by everyone.”

He continued: “Today, we must be careful not to complicate things ourselves. My opinion is that state-building and civic unity should be increased, and we should have more faith in the Euro-Atlantic journey and values,” Thaçi told the show Rubikon on Klan Kosova.
