The gunman in the attempted assassination of Donald Trump bought 50 rounds of ammunition at a local gun store, according to a senior law enforcement official, CNN reports.

Thomas Matthew Crooks had bought these bullets hours before he carried out the attack on Saturday afternoon.

“The gunman in Saturday’s attempted assassination of Donald Trump purchased 50 rounds of ammunition at a local gun store just hours before carrying out his attack,” said a senior law enforcement official in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Who is Trump’s attacker, Thomas Matthew Crooks?

On Sunday, July 14, the FBI identified the gunman involved in the attack against former US President Donald Trump on Saturday as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed by Secret Service agents at the scene of the shooting.

Crooks was identified by the FBI as a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania — about 35 miles south of Butler, where Trump was holding his rally Saturday afternoon.

Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School two years ago, in 2022, according to a local media report and a commencement video.

From the shooting on Saturday afternoon, one participating citizen was killed, and two others were seriously injured.
