The Joint Aviation and Implementation Task Force (JIC) of the U.S. KFOR, soldiers assigned to the Regional Command East of the NATO-led mission, conducted an air patrol along the northern border of Kosovo.

KFOR stated that the JIC regularly conducts “security and reconnaissance patrols on the ground and in the air to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Military Technical Agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1244.”

KFOR reiterated that it continues to implement its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999—to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, as well as to freedom of movement, at all times and impartially.

KFOR also mentioned that it works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
