The families of Morina, Rama, and Mehmetaj in the village of Jabllanica, Gjakova, along with many relatives and citizens, have gathered for the burial ceremony of three boys who tragically lost their lives due to the collapse of an old building, reports Gazeta Sinjali.
The deaths of Veton, Idial, and Rama have shaken Gjakova and all of Kosovo, as today they are given their final farewell.
According to official information, the building collapsed under unknown circumstances, and the three boys – two 15-year-olds and one 13-year-old – were inside when they were trapped by the debris.
The collapsed building was an old, abandoned structure, left in place after the 1999 Kosovo war.
A relative of the victims, Përparim Ademaj, told local media on Sunday that the boys had gone out a few hours before the incident to play together, and the family discovered they were inside the collapsed building after receiving phone calls.
According to him, nearby home security cameras show that the abandoned building collapsed around 4:35 PM on Saturday, while the bodies of the victims were found nearly six hours later.
The Office of the State Prosecutor has stated that the Chief Prosecutor, the on-duty prosecutor, and all relevant units of the Kosovo Police have arrived at the scene, and all measures are being taken to investigate the case.
