City buses in the capital will remain out of service tomorrow as well, as the strike by Urban Traffic workers in Prishtina will continue starting at 10:00.

The head of the Urban Traffic Union, Ilmi Gashi, confirmed for Radio Kosova that the strike will last until the Municipality of Prishtina settles its debts to both public and private transport operators.

As part of the protest, tomorrow from 10:00 to 12:00, buses will block the roads from the Government of Kosovo to the Municipality of Prishtina. The purpose is to demand the allocation of funds for workers’ salaries and to ensure the stability of urban transport services.

“Tomorrow we will begin the strike and bring the buses to transport our workers to the Municipality building. The strike will continue until the funds are allocated to the Urban Traffic account. If this does not happen, the strike will continue in the coming days,” Gashi said.

He expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to citizens but emphasized that the public service will resume immediately once the funds are allocated.

Urban Traffic officials have stated that the days lost in service will be compensated for monthly ticket holders.
The bus strike began on Monday, while the Municipality’s debt to Urban Traffic amounts to €3.22 million, and Urban Traffic owes €1.6 million to fuel suppliers.
