Voting in the parliamentary elections in Albania has officially ended, with Exit Polls showing the Socialist Party as the winner.
The State Commissioner for Elections, Ilirjan Celibashi, has called for calm and restraint from political parties.
Additionally, he stated that the preliminary results will not be delayed beyond Tuesday afternoon.
“What we all need to keep in mind is the calm that political parties and leaders must maintain. It is advised that declarations about the results, which come after the evaluation of the ballots by political parties, have no value and contribute negatively.
The votes are in the ballot boxes, and we must wait patiently for the counting. There must be calm and restraint from all parties.
The preliminary results will be available no later than Tuesday afternoon.
The CEC will not tolerate any action or initiative that goes against the integrity of the counting process,” he said.
