The Central Election Commission (CEC) plans to appoint 414 individuals who will be directly involved in the voting process to be held at the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Kosovo on February 8, 2025, one day before the elections in Kosovo.

This voting process, organized for the first time in the history of the Republic of Kosovo, will take place in 19 different countries worldwide, primarily in Europe. However, voting stations with the emblem of the Republic of Kosovo and the CEC logo will also be set up in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

CEC spokesperson, Valmir Elezi, mentioned that the total number of appointed members also includes 184 reserve members.

According to the CEC, the composition of the Voting Councils at diplomatic missions is determined by the Law on General Elections, meaning it must reflect the political entities represented in the Assembly, which have passed the electoral threshold, are certified to run in the elections, and include one official from the diplomatic mission.

“According to the CEC’s decision, the Voting Councils at a voting center in a diplomatic mission will consist of 5 members, 4 of whom will represent parliamentary political entities that have passed the electoral threshold, and 1 will be a representative from the diplomatic mission. In total, the number of members of the Voting Councils that will be engaged on voting day, February 8, is 230 members, of which 184 represent political entities and 46 represent the diplomatic missions. Meanwhile, the number of reserve members is 184,” said Elezi for teve1.
