The deputy Prime minister of North Macedonia, Arben Fetai has published on his Facebook account that during the day he recieved a death threat, where the post states:

“Reaction after the threat to life “BULLET IN THE HEAD FOR YOU SHIPO FETAI”

Today, from the European capital, Brussels, I feel compelled to respond to a threat to my life that I received in my official email. This threat came after my statement yesterday about removing the “20 percent” definition for the Albanian language.

The email is titled “BULLET IN THE HEAD FOR YOU SHIPO FETAI” and contains this message: “The 20 percent will not be changed, but everything Albanian of yours we will kill with a bullet in the head. Die, a dead Albanian is a good Albanian; death to Albanians.”

I cannot remain indifferent to this threat. I inform the threatner and the opinion that I have personally informed the interior minister, Pance Toshkovski, requesting action and increasing my personal security measures. The lawsuit is in preparation, as the threats and extremists should get the answer they deserve: jail time according to the laws in force.

At the same time, we inform all those who have a tribal mindset that there is no power that stops us from the responsibility we have taken as functionaries of the VLEN coalition. I remind everyone that the Albanian language does not threaten anything or anyone. Language is an asset, a means of communication that serves to understand and cooperate, therefore, we will never allow the Albanian language to be a pretext for miscreants of this type to hinder our work.

We remain focused on the European path.

Greetings from Brussels!”
