The Chairman of the ZRRE Board, Ymer Fejzullahu, announced that for the 2024/2025 heating season, consumers will continue to pay the same rates.
According to a media statement, this decision was made during the 11th meeting of the ZRRE Board. It was also emphasized that billing for heating based on actual consumption will help save electricity.
“The rates will remain the same, but what is more important is that billing based on consumption enables consumers to save electricity and at the same time reduce their bills,” said Fejzullahu.
He also hopes that in the coming year, more consumers will be included in the consumption-based heating billing system.
Additionally, during the meeting held on Tuesday, the ZRRE Board approved the maximum price for the wind auction.
“One of the important topics discussed was determining the maximum price for 75 MW of energy from wind turbines, which is expected to be auctioned by the Ministry. The ZRRE has set the maximum price, or the price that consumers will be willing to pay in electricity tariffs, if responsible bidders are found. The maximum price has been set at 80.2 euros per megawatt,” said Fejzullahu.
Other points discussed during the meeting included the approval of the transmission capacity for the Albania-Kosovo interconnection, with a value of 50 megawatts, as part of the Market Integration Process.
