The European Union’s warnings of harsher measures against Kosovo, should unilateral and uncoordinated actions be taken, are considered unfair by Professor Mazllum Bajraliu. He believes that the EU is treating Kosovo with dictatorial methods.
“We should be relaxing relations, and they should act only as diplomatic representatives in a sovereign and independent country with all the rights and privileges that international law assigns to Kosovo. They should respect this, along with the thoughts, stances, and decisions that are positive, in the spirit of the law, in the spirit of justice, and the rule of law, to implement those agreements that the European Union and the International Community have supported through their mediation between Kosovo and Serbia,” said Mazllum Baraliu, a professor of political issues.
The government responded to the EU through its spokesperson, stating that measures are not the solution.
“On the other hand, the question arises: what measures did the EU take against Serbia, which after the terrorist and paramilitary attack declared a national day of mourning for the three terrorists killed in Banjska, whose leader, Milan Radojičić, they harbor and finance?” stated Përparim Kryeziu.
Baraliu said that the EU cannot treat Kosovo as a state that it does not recognize.
“On what basis? They have no right because we are not members. They have the right towards Hungary, for example, but they are not doing anything, even though Hungary has openly stepped out of line with EU policies and is flirting with Russia and others like China, and they are not doing anything, they are tolerating it,” he emphasized.
Security analyst Arben Dashevci told RTK that, in terms of security, there are no better conditions than now to open the Ibër bridge.
“Private security is ensured, individual security is ensured, public security is there to meet the conditions, and national security, which is for everyone, is ensured together with collective security, meaning NATO and 33 states are taking care of this republic and this bridge to prevent escalations… Those who have attacked the Republic of Kosovo are no longer in the Republic of Kosovo,” Dashevci declared.
Meanwhile, regarding the EU’s statements concerning the Government’s actions to open the bridge for vehicle traffic, Dashevci said that the Government must find a way to coordinate, in order to avoid creating diplomatic problems with allies.
