The Government of Kosovo has provided details on today’s round of meetings within the dialogue process mediated by the European Union in Brussels.
First, a bilateral meeting was held with the EU’s Special Representative, envoy Miroslav Lajčak, followed by a trilateral meeting. During the bilateral meeting, a range of topics was addressed, while the trilateral meeting, as per the agenda, focused on the path forward with the implementation of the Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex.
In both the bilateral meeting with envoy Lajčak and the trilateral one, Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi emphasized the necessity of implementing the Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex in full and without further delays, through a fair and equal sequencing plan between the parties.
He also stressed the need to sign the agreements as a guarantee for their implementation, given Serbia’s continued refusal of the agreement and its red lines that violate the spirit and provisions of the agreement, the need to withdraw the letter submitted by Serbia through former Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, and the handover of the chief criminal and terrorist Milan Radoičić by Serbia, who is responsible for the terrorist act in Banjska.
One of the topics discussed during the bilateral meeting with envoy Lajčak was the issue of missing persons, where Serbia continues to block the implementation of the joint declaration. Additionally, discussions were held on agreements regarding freedom of movement, energy, and official visits.
Envoy Lajčak praised the opening of the technical inspection center in the north, while mentioning that interconnection lines will be launched within a month, advancing the implementation of the energy agreement.
