The Head of the Swiss Armed Forces Visits Kosovo Today

On Thursday, the Head of the Swiss Armed Forces, Commander Thomas Sussli, will be in Kosovo.

His visit will focus on the Swiss troops contributing to KFOR.

During the visit, it is announced that he will meet with the Commander of KFOR, Enrico Barduani, reports Klankosova.tv.

The Swiss Armed Forces Chief intends to engage with Swiss soldiers stationed in Kosovo and gather impressions of the various services provided to KFOR.

“A bilateral meeting with KFOR Commander, Major General Enrico Barduani of the Italian Armed Forces, is also scheduled. The Swiss Armed Forces’ mandate for KFOR was renewed in 2023 and will last until the end of 2026,” a statement from the Swiss Federal Government reads.

Following the visit to Kosovo, the Swiss army chief will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina to get an overview of the regional situation.

“Peacebuilding in multinational operations is one of the three missions of the Swiss Armed Forces. Currently, around 300 women and men from various ranks are committed to peace in over 15 countries,” the government statement added.
