Workers at the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) often face life-threatening risks to ensure the uninterrupted production of electricity. One of them is Gëzim Selmani, who has recently gained attention as a true hero for his dedication.
In a video published by the New Union of KEK, Gëzim is seen emerging from the interior of the boiler of Block A5, a task deemed extremely dangerous, reports IndeksOnline.
Despite the risk, these workers enter such areas “without hesitation, with full will and commitment,” the union states.
“Entry into this complex section is done to identify boiler leaks, and then prepare welding operations and technical interventions that ensure energy production continuity.
The area he enters is 49 meters in elevation, through a narrow door, within a confined and hazardous space, but Gëzim carries out the task with exemplary professionalism and dedication,” the statement reads.
These workers have been hailed as the “invisible heroes of the boiler” by the union.
